When You Are Functioning… But Not Full; A Call to True Significance.

There is a kind of life many women are living today that is rarely questioned.
You are showing up.
You are responsible.
You are doing what needs to be done.
From the outside, everything looks right. And yet, in the quiet moments…Something feels off.
Not wrong. Just… not right.
You are functioning. But you are not full.
For me, this realisation did not come as a theory. It came as a question, a question that changed everything.
I was minding my business as a medical doctor — diagnosing disease, treating patients, doing what I had been trained to do. But life introduced me to something I had never been trained for:
- My own emotions.
- My own brokenness.
- My own emptiness.
And I remember asking myself: “Who takes care of me? Where do I take my heart to be healed”? Because I had mastered disease…But I had not mastered being well.
The Hidden Gap in Health
In medical school, we are taught the definition of health as given by the World Health Organisation: “A state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, not merely the absence of disease.”
We learn it. We pass exams on it. But very few of us are taught how to actually live it.
And yet, so many of us become very good at functioning…While quietly disconnected within.
Holding it all together is always such a lonely journey.
Over the years, I had been trained to be:
- A good doctor
- A good wife.
- A good mother.
- A responsible woman.
But no one had taught me how to be whole. And yes, it was lonely, very lonely.
This is because the world celebrates capability…But rarely, or never asks about completeness.
While in the quiet – with no one watching but myself, just me and that inner voice, I began the journey of a lifetime transition.
It was a journey, not loud - not visible; a quiet one.
I was asking myself:
- Where do I find completeness?
- Where do I find joy again?
- Where do I heal what no one sees?
This took what felt like a lifetime, but slowly… I began to find answers; not in performance, not in busyness, but in the quiet. In the moments where I slowed down…and listened.
What I discovered along that journey changed everything: the missing piece was emotional wellness. At the centre of true health…is emotional wellness.
It is found in:
- The quietness of the morning
- The deep breaths we often skip
- The release of the tension we carry all day
- The mental decluttering we ignore
- The words we speak to ourselves daily
- The beliefs we allow to take root
It is in journaling — where your heart meets paper, while having compassion on self.
It is in caring for your body so intentionally that others begin to notice: “There is something beautifully changing about her…”
Learning from the Women Who Came Before Us
As my journey deepened, I began to ask:
How did the women before us live with such strength and wholeness?
Women like Mary, Esther, The woman with the issue of blood, the widow with two coins – what made them stand out? How did they do it so well, yet faced with different scenarios of adversity?
They were not just stories, they were examples of:
- Resilience.
- Faith.
- Identity.
- Deep inner strength.
They carried something within them…that allowed them to stand out.
In seeking and going deeper to find more answers, to find my own sanity, I realised something I could not keep to myself, the realisation that I could not ignore:
Every woman deserves to know this, YOU included.
You are not meant to just function, You are meant to be:
- Whole.
- Grounded.
- Aligned.
- Well.
So,
If you have ever found yourself thinking:
“I am doing everything right… but something is missing”
Then pause. That feeling is not failure - it is awareness. And awareness is often the beginning of something new.
A different way of living.
A deeper way of being.
This is the journey that gave birth to The Significant One – She Stands Out Program.
Not just as a course, but as a guided space where women:
- Reconnect with themselves
- Process what they carry
- Build inner strength
- And begin to live from fullness
So I leave you with this question: Are you functioning… or are you full?
Because there is a difference, and that difference… changes everything.
You are The Significant One - And you stand out.
If this resonates with you, the next cohort of The Significant One Program is open.
